This section contains a range of resources for our partners to help them provide the most up to date advice and support to jobseekers and learners in Somerset.  It also provides information to others that may wish to get in supporting the work of the Somerset Employment and Skills Group.

A Guide for Jobseekers:

The Department for Work and Pensions has produced a comprehensive local guide for individuals facing redundancy or unemployment in Somerset.  Much of the support available is free, so make sure that you, or your customers, aren’t missing out.

The Inspiring Work website also provides in formation about the help and support available from the Jobcentre Plus Rapid Response to Redundancy Service (RRS). If redundancies are anticipated,  one of the RRS team will usually be able to come along to the workplace to talk to staff who will be affected by redundancy about the range of help and support available.

Somerset’s Employment and Skills Support Offer:

This document provides an overview of the main Government-funded Employment and Skills contracts currently being delivered in Somerset and contact information for the main contract holders.  This document may be of use to partners exploring sub-contracting opportunities within the County.  It is also used by the Increasing Employment Network to determine where duplication or gaps in provision may exist.

Our Evidence Base:

In addition to the information that local employers can provide regarding their recruitment and training needs, our partners need access to additional quantitative evidence to help target support at the right people and the right places.  Some of this evidence is provided by SESG’s Data Dashboard:
